Singapore is a city state nestled off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia, and is commonly known as the “Little Red Dot” due to its small land area of 725.7km².

Singapore is adorned with modern architectural icons such as the Marina Bay Sands and the Jewel Changi. Colonial buildings and Chinese shophouses – reminiscent of the city's rich history blend in with these modern icons to create a truly unique city skyline.

Specks of greenery add life to this small city state, with some of the best places to get in touch with nature including the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Bukit Timah Hill and the Southern Ridges, a 10 km trail connecting multiple national parks together.

Besides the beautiful scenery, Singapore also offers a unique cultural experience. In Singapore, many cultures blend with one another, creating the unique Singaporean identity where people of different races and religions live together harmoniously. This has shaped the cuisines we enjoy and the way we communicate.

What online platform will we be using throughout the forum?

We will be using ZOOM during all ISYF sessions, unless stated otherwise.
How will my facilitators contact me?

Facilitators will preferentially use Whatsapp or WeChat to communicate with you. If you have any other queries, you can also contact us at reach_isyf@student.hci.edu.sg.
What timezone is the host school in?

The host school, Hwa Chong Institution, is in Singapore. We are in a timezone of GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) +8. All timings written in documents given to you are in GMT+8 (Actual Timing in Singapore) unless stated otherwise.
What if I am unable to attend/connect to the ZOOM meeting (e.g. due to unforeseen circumstances such as Internet or Wi-Fi connection issues or other emergencies?)

If you are in Singapore, please inform your facilitators immediately (you may use SMS or phone call if necessary).

If you are not in Singapore, please inform your facilitators immediately. If you are unable to contact them, please try to inform the fellow delegate from your school to pass the message to us.

We will provide you with technical assistance to the best of our abilities.
What if I cannot log into my accounts?

If you face problems with your ISYF specific email, please inform your facilitators as soon as possible so that we can help you reset your password promptly.

If you face problems with your ZOOM account, please follow the instructions provided in the ZOOM Instructions and Manual Guidelines for Delegates. You will need access to your ISYF specific email for this.
What platform will I be using for the Team Project Challenge?

You will be using Adobe Spark to create your video. If you are not sure about how to use Adobe Spark, please refer to the tutorial videos that will be shared with you through your ISYF specific email.
